Forget reminders such as hanging your dream bikini, leggins, dress, or your fitness wearin the kitchen to inspire you. Forget screen savers, phone apps, and refrigerator magnets that spout words of wisdom to keep you focused. Those reminders are all too easy to forget about when they’re not in front of your face.

The most frequent excuse I hear from people from getting into shape is money: “I can’t afford a trainer”or “I can’t afford a gym membership.”The second most common excuses are time and energy. “I have no time work out.... I’m too exhausted to exercise.”

But aside from these excuses, I find the biggest obstacle for people is achieve their fitness goals is staying motivated. Without enough motivation, fitness goals are easily abandoned. The good news is, motivation is free. It’s also very easy.

I believe the best way to stay motivated is music. Music has the powerful ability to alter our moods, rile us up, energize or calm us, and force our bodies into movement even when our minds think we’re not up to the task.

I have several playlists on my iPod that offer me a variety of motivations for my workouts: a non-stop, fast one for running/cardio; a heart-pounding, fist-pumping set of hard rock and blues for weightlifting (resistance training), and a mind-cleaning, fluid ensemble for yoga or stretching.

Whether outdoors, in your room, or at the gym, it doesn’t matter where you listen. Let Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Guns N Roses, Metallica, The Bee Gees— whatever artists spur you on—lead you down the path of fitness. Twenty to forty minutes later, you’ll be done with your workout and one day closer to your goal – no trainer, no gym, and no pep-talks needed.

There is a plethora of information on articles and blogs out there (my own included) that will show you how to work out at home with little or no equipment, how to take your workout outdoors, and how to eat lean and clean in a way that jump-starts weight loss. I can preach to you all day about how just ten or twenty minutes a day, three times a week can get you to your goals, or about how exercise gives you energy, not takes it away. And I can tell you that hiring a kick-ass personal trainer is one of the best ways to achieve your fitness goals. But you don’t have to spend much money or effort to start and stay motivated in your fitness goals.

Fortunately, most of you who already have fitness on you mind also have smart phones, iPods or mp3 players, so all you need to do is create several inspiring and energizing playlists to wake your body up. Then just plug in, turn up and work out!

Agree, good music inspires and the best way how to do some exercises is to listen some good track while you’re in a gym or outside. By the way, you’ve just reminded me to renew my playlist. ;D

I’m really grateful, that someone writes these kind of articles. Yes, I also thought that the only thing, which don’t let me to have some activities is that I can’t afford a gym membership. But few months ago I started jogging with my favourite music and it’s awesome! :)))
